Accelerated Orthodontics

What is Accelerated Orthodontics?

Accelerated Orthodontics uses one or more of several different procedures to speed up the time it takes to align a person’s teeth. Since the average Invisalign patient can be in treatment for up to 15 months to 2 years, acceleration is a game changer to help folks finish their treatment a lot faster so they can start enjoying their new smile sooner!

At byte Dentistry, Dr.Rewari uses the Propel Accelerator and the Vpro5(both FDA approved devices) to stimulate the bone and make your treatment time considerably shorter and more predictable.

How long does the procedure take?

The Propel Accelerator is used in chair in a 30 min procedure with the help of numbing so the patient has no discomfort at all and they leave with the Vpro5 device which is used by the patient for 5 min a day at night before they go to bed in their aligners.

What are the pros and cons of using acceleration?

Pros:

-Faster straightening and alignment of the teeth resulting in shorter treatment time(sometimes half the time in Invisalign compared to those who do not get acceleration)

-More predictable movements. Adult teeth are more challenging to move compared to adolescent or teenage teeth and acceleration around certain hard to move teeth makes their movement more likely during treatment.

Cons:

-Involves an in chair procedure that requires anesthetic

Who is a candidate for Acceleration?

Almost all adults that are wanting to straighten their teeth with Invisalign are good candidates.
